You may think that a cat carrier is not necessary to have but the truth is it is really important to have one if you need to transport your cat from one place to another. Whether in veterinary clinic or air travel or just about any place, you would need a carrier. It is much better to use a cat carrier than using a cardboard box, pillow case, jacket or towel to restrain them. Having a loose cat is not safe and not advisable so it is really important to include a carrier in your must have cat supplies.

Air travel cat carrier should be well ventilated, water proof, lightweight and durable. Not all cat carriers are approved by airlines so before buying one, call the airlines to check their approved brand. Check if there is food and water storage, it is very important especially for long travel or waiting period.

A cat carrier is designed for one cat but if you need to transport two or more, be sure that you have large carrier but this is only for a short trip. Like cat beds, introduce and train your cat to use the carrier so if the time comes that you need to place your cat in the carrier, it will not be difficult and you will avoid possible delays.
